Nature's Alternatives The First Dispensary in Grand Junction Co.

Having one MMJ dispensary is great but having two is even better. I had the great pleasure to sit down and talk with Brenton and John, the owners of Nature's Alternatives. Its very exciting to see two dispensaries right here in our little town of Junction. What a lot of people may not seem to realize, is that Nature's Alternatives opened on April 20th, (what a great day to open). They started off with patients that drove all the way from Aspen Colorado, with the help of newspaper ads and word of mouth local patients are getting the medicine they need.
As you walk into the door you are greeted with a handshake, smile, and a very relaxed professional atmosphere. One of the unique qualities that Nature's Alternatives has to offer is a traveling Doctor. If someone is in Hospice or too sick to visit a doctor the
doctor will come to them with the help of Nature's Alternatives. They have secured a Colorado state licensed doctor, which means the visit for recommendations will be slightly cheaper than CannaMed if you qualify for the recommendation. One of the great services they are going to offer are Grow Clinics, plus they will help you trouble shoot if you are having problems with your medicinal plants. In the near future they would like to get a fundraiser together to help out with patients that are on SSI, a limited income or in Hospice.
Having discreet MMJ dispensaries in Grand Junction is bringing integrity to MMJ patients. For more information on doctor recommondations or any other questions call 970-245-2680

A week and two days ago today.
Its offically been a week and two days since the Therapuetic Herbal Center has opened its doors. Gregg has had a great start 2 days into being open he ran out of merchandise, has a list of 55 more patients wanting to get signed up and all ready thinking about leasing another building. I sit down in Gregg's office with his girlfriend and we start talking.
Here is a little bit of a back story. Three years ago Gregg was working on a Rig in Colorado when a Pressure Gauge of 2800 PSI exploded and hit him in the forehead. After being in a coma for 2 months he woke
and started taking 35 to 90 pills a day. Getting frusturated with the Dr.s telling him how he "should feel" and telling him the medication should help with his tremors and seiszures, he looked to Medical Marijuana to help him. Fast forward to now. He moved to Grand Junction and started to wonder "why hasnt anyone opened a dispensary on the western slope?" He just kept it in the back of his mind. His girlfriend came home with a newspaper article that got the ball rolling. William Hewitt a MMJ patient in Montrose Co was getting a dispensary started up. Gregg went over to Montrose to meet him and discuss the in's and out's of a dispensary. On his way home Gregg decided that night that he wanted to open a dispensary up in Grand Junction.
I get an overwhelming feeling talking to Gregg that its not just about him but about the Community. He wants patients to have integrity coming into and leaving his shop. He wants the Therapeutic Herbal Center done legal, done right and he is here to inform everyone. "Its about the patient, no negativity, and I want everyone to feel comfortable." He pauses for a second "What did your mother tell you when you were growing up?" Gregg asks. "You can do anything you want" he says. The dispensary is only the begining of what he has planned.

I looked around in the "strip mall" and it's like any other day around here. I guess in the back of my mind it wasn't a matter of when the p
