Natures Medicine "We may not be the first, but we are the best"

We are welcoming Natures Medicine this week, a dispensary and a wellness center. This is the second shop for Natures Medicine, Dusty was introduced to the shop in Loveland, Co. Dusty decided that a wellness center could bring great benefits to MMJ patients and area residents. The wellness center is open to the public and when you walk through the doors you will not even know they dispense MMJ, pot leaves will not be shoved in your face its very discreet.

He has a Chinese herbalist that can help with your symptoms just by looking at a picture of your tongue. There are Chinese herbs on site as well as vitamins, supplements, minerals and a core group of strains of Medical Marijuana. The staff will be able to help find a stain that will best suit your needs. You will also be able to buy, pipes, vaporizers and rolling papers, as long as you have your MMJ card.

One thing that sets Natures Medicine apart from the rest is that there are three rooms that are set aside to get different types of messages and meditation. Certified message therapist will be on site, if you have your MMJ card an hour message will run approx $25.

Dusty was hoping to be the first dispensary to open up but said "We may not be the first, but we are the best". He hopes that he has set a standard for more dispensaries to come. Dusty served for his country in the Navy and is an Iraq war veteran, he also went to Indonesia and aided in the relief effort after the 2004 tsunami.

When asked where his interest in holistic comes from, Higgins says:"I want to help people attain a better quality of life. I watched my Grandfather wither away while he battled leukemia. Malnutrition affects around 85% of cancer victims and it kills. I believe in these treatments and I want to help others in similar situations help them reduce their pain levels, help those suffering from appetite loss to eat a full meal and put weight back on. "

So here I was ready to head down to the Therapeutic Herbal Center fully expecting to be greeted with some kind of protest and have people in full uproar. It was quite the opposite. No protest no "angry mob" nothing. Just people in need of some relief. The Dr.'s were kind enough to start seeing people before 10 a.m. (the original start time). Everyone seemed to be in an upbeat positive mood.

I looked around in the "strip mall" and it's like any other day around here. I guess in the back of my mind it wasn't a matter of when the protesters showed up it was a matter of when are they going to leave? I introduced myself to Gregg and he seemed very excited, I told him I will be back to talk later. Shortly after 12 our local news man Mike Daniels showed up with camera in hand. I can't wait to see how they are going to spin the event today. (Although they haven't said anything negative about the shop so far.) I guess what I am trying to say is maybe this town isn't so bad after all? Only time will tell.
